Trump took to Twitter to brag about how great the economy is and gave a list of how well the U.S is doing.

He says everyone has been talking about the progress that has been made in Afghanistan in recent months.

The call was with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan, the 2nd Marine Raider Batallion in Iraq, the 5th Fleet aboard the USS Monterey, the 74th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron in Turkey and the Coast Guard at the Kuwait Navy Base.

"What you are doing with ISIS is again being talked about - with armed forces, we're really winning". "We're not fighting any more to just walk around, we are fighting to win". They were letting you play even.

Speaking to the attendees, Trump called meeting with the troops an "honor" and thanked the Coast Guard for the work they did saving stranded people in the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico this year.

"This Thanksgiving, in addition to rejoicing in precious time spent with loved ones, let us find ways to serve and encourage each other in both word and deed", Trump's proclamation said.

Trump added: "There is no brand, of any kind, not just talking about a military brand, that has gone up more than the Coast Guard".

Lebanese PM will return to Beirut
President Aoun accused Saudi Arabia of holding Mr Hariri against his will but both the Saudis and Mr Hariri denied this. After praying at the grave, Hariri retired to his home in central Beirut .

Trump praised the superiority of USA military equipment, too, yet said he tries to make sure that equipment the US sells overseas - even to allies - is not quite as good as that kept at home. "An ally can turn".

"So you're fighting for something real", he said. "They weren't letting you win".

In his official Thanksgiving Proclamation, Trump also thanked all troops and veterans for their service.

The F-35, plagued by development problems and cost overruns, is in fact not invisible to people nearby.

Turning to specific missions, Trump told the Army soldiers in Afghanistan and the Marines in the Middle East that they've been able to achieve success because of the change in presidents in January.

He and his family will enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday meal at their Mar-a-Lago Estate.
