A busy mall in the New York State was evacuated Sunday after two people suffered minor injuries when a gun was sacked at the floor, police said.

State police responded to reports at the Galleria at Crystal Run around 3 p.m. Sunday.

"It appears that a male wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and gray trousers discharged one round from a handgun into the floor of the second-level mall in front of the American Eagle store", says Walkill Police Chief Robert Hertman. It is not clear if the two were injured by gunshots or another way.

Hertman said they did not yet know whether the gun was shot accidentally or intentionally. "The investigation is still ongoing".
