Micromax Bharat 5 With 5000mAh Battery Launched For Rs. 5555

The latest entry to the list is Micromax Bharat 5 - the successor to the Bharat 4. Dubbed as Micromax Bharat 5, the smartphone will be unveiled at an event held in Gurgaon at 12:00 PM onwards.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a 5.2-inch HD (1280x720) display.

The Bharat 5 features a compact 5.2-inches HD screen.it is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz. The Bharat 5 launched today with the tagline "Power of 5" as it highlights a 5000mAh battery, 5-megapixel rear and front cameras at Rs 5,555. For selfies and video calling, there is a 5MP camera at the front and it too comes with a LED flash. The phone will be available starting December 5 from offline stores across the country. Micromax also confirmed that they will launch more Bharat branded handsets in the future. Vodafone's offer comes amid intense competition in the telecom sector as new comer Reliance Jio has been rolling out cheap 4G data plans, a low-end feature phone called Jio Phone and even wi-fi routers called as JioFi. The home-grown smartphone manufacturer aims to sell more than 6 million Bharat-series smartphones by March 2018. The most lightweight of three here though is the Redmi 5A which comes with only a 3,000mAh battery which is non-removable, but one that Xiaomi claims can provide 8-days of battery life on standby on a single charge.

The timing of this new product launch couldn't be more ideal as Bharat 5 is targeted towards the budget-conscious shoppers - same as Xiaomi's latest "Desh Ka Smartphone" Redmi 5A.

Xiaomi is selling the base model of Redmi 5A (2GB RAM + 16GB built-in storage) at an introductory price of Rs 4,999.
