Authorities arrested a North Carolina man in connection to the disappearance of his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter. Earl Kimrey, 32, was taken into custody Friday on charges including concealing a death and obstructing justice, ABC reports.

On Friday, Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said he was "overwhelmed" by the outpouring of support from the community and nearby military members, who came out to assist in the search for Mariah.

Investigators have charged him with concealing death, obstruction of justice and other charges.

Kimrey is being held on a more than one million dollar bond.

Though the girl's body has not been found, ongoing searches for her have now turned into a recovery process.

The FBI asked for any business or residents near U.S. Highway 17 or state Highway 53 in the area where the girl disappeared to call police and let them see the footage.

Lashkar militant killed in Sopore
In a separate ongoing encounter, a militant was killed and a paratrooper injured in Sagipora village of Sopore in north Kashmir. He added that the protesters torched a private pickup van which was being used by the security forces in the operation.

They were sent straight to the FBI's base in Quantico, Virginia, for testing on Wednesday afternoon.

Kristy, who this week disabled her Facebook account after posting the missing person's appeal for her daughter, claimed that Mariah was taken by a stranger.

The Jacksonville, N.C., girl went missing late Saturday, prompting her father, Alex Woods, to question his ex-wife's statement about the girl's whereabouts.

It has been five days since the little girl vanished from her home in the dead of night. "We have got to bring her home", Miller said.

NBC affiliate WRAL that Kimrey lived in the home with Mariah and her mother. Authorities said they have been using all means necessary to find Mariah including ground searches assist by a helicopter and K9 units - so far, officials have covered 100 acres. "Four people in the house, two adults and two kids, someone just comes up and snatches the baby and walks out?" Please just bring her back safe and sound - she's my baby, she's my everything'. The missing child's case has shifted to a homicide case.
