Davis will undergo an MRI Saturday, and he is not expected to play in the team's game against Portland according to Scott Kushner of the New Orleans Advocate.

Davis received his second technical foul of the game and was ejected with 4:11 remaining in the second quarter of the Pelicans' 120-102 loss to the Timberwolves at Smoothie King Center. Portland provided a momentary scare on the previous play, missing a reverse layup that would've cut the margin to only three points after it had been eight moments earlier.

New Orleans faces another tough test on Monday when it takes on the defending champion Golden State Warriors for the third time this season.

The Pelicans initially said Davis had left groin injury but have updated the injury report to indicate it is a "left pelvis" issue.

As it turns out, the injury will hold him out for longer than just part of Friday's game.

In his first 20 games, Davis put up the second-best scoring and rebounding averages of his career while shooting at his highest field goal percentage ever.
