Apple Pay Cash service now activated for most users

Apple Pay Cash was not usable because the company had not yet activated it. Apple Pay Cash is now officially available in the United States and available for all iPhone and iPad owners running iOS 11.2 on their devices. Users have also reported problems with Face ID in iPhone X after updating, but most have found a reboot after installation clears up the problem.

Over the weekend, Apple pushed out iOS 11.2 a little earlier than planned to address a crashing problems affecting iPhone users.

The feature requires iOS 11.2 and is compatible with the iPhone SE, iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th-gen), iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 or later, and Apple Watch.

Now Apple has flipped the switch meaning all US users can begin using the Square Cash and Venmo competitor. It's also happening in waves, so not all iPhone and iPad users on iOS 11.2 have it yet, which is an important factor since Apple Pay Cash will only work if both ends of the transaction have the feature enabled. We were able to use it on Monday, but it's not available to everyone yet.

The news comes after CME group announced last week that it would launch bitcoin futures on december 18. At 19:54 UTC on Monday, bitcoin was trading at $11,237.19, unchanged in the last 24 hours.

Money received from Apple Pay Cash is stored within Wallet on iPhone. Then, tap the black Apple Pay icon in the dock.

Big banks in Canada eventually adopted Apple Pay, so that's a good sign. Although Apple Pay lets users make purchases with credit or debit cards attached to their accounts, Apple Pay Cash allows people to transfer money between each other.

The service links to your bank debit to cover charges that exceed whatever is in your Apple Pay Cash account. But Apple Pay Cash is different. Cash app users can save the money they receive in the app, or deposit it directly to their bank account. With the Cash app, people can send and receive money from friends instantly. However, this feature is only available in the USA for now.
