Mark Noble praises defensive qualities following derby win over Chelsea

Hammers skipper Mark Noble praised the effect Moyes has had since he arrived at the club.

After a poor start to the campaign, the London outfit were narrowly defeated 2-1 by free-scoring league leaders Manchester City earlier this month, followed by a shock 1-0 win over champions Chelsea last Saturday to end an eight-game winless streak.

A prolonged spell on the bench could jeopardise Hart's chances of being England's first choice goalkeeper in Russian Federation in the summer, even though earlier this month Gareth Southgate said he remained England's starting goalkeeper.

David Moyes admitted his relief at getting his first win as West Ham boss. 'I can describe my feelings, it was just wonderful and all the players were just incredible and I think we deserved three points. That's why it wasn't an easy decision - it wasn't easy because of that. I wanted to hit them on the break but then he ran out of steam.

Moyes's appointment as the West Ham manager was not well received by the fans, but they need to give the former Everton and Sunderland boss their full support. It's a manager's job. Having said that, the Hammers are still in a relegation fight and I think they need to keep playing like the did against Chelsea if they wish to stay in the Premier League next season.

A move to West Ham was seen as the flawless chance for the two-time Premier League victor to re-establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the division, but the 30-year-old's form has suffered at the London Stadium.

Moyes added: "We've got competition and because of that he has to be ready to get back into the team".

'We didn't have the rub of the green in the first part of the season, but I think the manager has come in and exclusively concentrated on the team shape and not conceding goals and I think that showed today.

"Joe is incredibly experienced".
