Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, Moody Blues and Nina Simone will be this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, the museum announced Wednesday morning.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will also be honoring Sister Rosetta Tharpe with its Award for Early Influence.

Four of the inductees - Simone, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues and Tharpe - were on the ballot for the first time. A nomination doesn't guarantee that the act will be inducted; Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine and Depeche Mode were among the other acts who were nominated this round, but won't be inducted.

That may also explain why so many repeat nominees who made the ballot this year failed to gain enough votes this time around.

Unfortunately, they often end up getting slower as they get older, which is one of the most annoying things that could happen. When it comes to Apple , owners of the iPhone 6 and 6s models had to struggle with their phones suddenly shutting down.

They will receive their official awards at the 33rd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 14, 2018, at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland Ohio.

The ceremony will premiere on TV network HBO and will be broadcast via SiriusXM, with further details to be announced in due course. When questioned by Rolling Stone about the possibility of a reunion with former members guitarist Richie Sambora and original bassist Alec John Such, drummer Tico Torres stated, "They are a huge part of us". Bay Shore native LL Cool J, who received a Kennedy Center Honor earlier this month, was also nominated, but not selected.

More than 800 artists have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over the past 32 years.

Ballots are cast by approximately 1,000 artists, historians, critics (including this writer) and other music industry professionals.
