In the statement obtained by the The Oklahoman, Thornton wrote she was too intoxicated to provide Anderson consent during their November 16 encounter, but that she plans to drop the protective order filed against Anderson after she received military orders as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

Derek Chance, Anderson's attorney, had called the accusation "patently false", saying the woman made it after Anderson declined her social invitations.

"The woman said that this past weekend, through a conversation with a friend, she started "recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers" inside her and biting her", Trotter wrote. Specifically, she decried, in part, "inaccurate statements" from Mashburn at the Thursday press conference and hopes that his office's "unorthodox, erroneous and egregious release of detailed information does not affect and/or deter future victims from coming forward".

Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn said the decision comes after the case was thoroughly investigated by the "finest sex crime prosecutors in the State of Oklahoma".

Cleveland County DA: No charges against OU running back Rodney Anderson

This season, Anderson has rushed for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns and has caught 16 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns for the Sooners. In her statement, Thornton says she is disappointed in the justice system after the Cleveland County district attorney decided not to press charges against Anderson. I was led to believe that the case details provided to the media would be a vague overview of the investigative process.

In her statement, the woman disputed those details. I was not "tipsy" - I was incapacitated. Following a night of consuming over 10 shots of alcohol, at least 8 of which he witnessed, I was unable to provide consent after I had 'blacked-out'. My body was violated when I was unable to give consent. I had no desire for anything but justice. In the most possible straightforward and honest manner, I did not do this.

Anderson said last week on Twitter that "I did not do this". In the humble words of Eleanor Roosevelt, "What you don't do can be a destructive force".

As for the team, they will face Georgia on January 1 in a College Football Playoff semifinal.
