Ryanair in union supply to keep away from Christmas strikes

Speaking to RTÉ yesterday morning, Bernard Harbor said the union wanted the meeting to make sure there was substance to the offer Ryanair had made, and to flesh out how the airline's recognition of unions would proceed.

Ryanair has offered to meet with IMPACT on Tuesday, and has called on the unions to call off threatened action next week.

On Saturday evening Ryanair issued a statement, offering to meet the union and their Ryanair Pilot Committee on Tuesday "if that would suit them better".

The BALPA union said it had accepted Ryanair's offer to represent British-based pilots, but only if the TUC federation of British trade unions was allowed to attend future talks.

Ryanair pilots have called off a planned strike action due to take place on Wednesday.
