The FBI said Thursday it had arrested a man for allegedly planning a Christmas Day terror attack in San Francisco. The FBI searched Jameson's home in Modesto on Wednesday, finding guns, explosives, and a signed note taking credit for an attack.

The suspect, Everitt Aaron Jameson, 26, of Modesto, Calif., was arrested this week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation at his home for allegedly planning to target San Francisco's bustling Pier 39, officials said. Jameson allegedly said Pier 39, a popular tourist destination, was a good location for an attack and planned to use explosives to herd people toward where he could kill them.

According to the FBI, Jameson was identified as an ISIS supporter in September based on his social-media activity, which was brought to authorities' attention by an agency informant.

Jameson, who authorities say was a "radical jihadist", was was not immediately available for comment on Friday as he was taken into custody. In a letter found there, Jameson wrote, "You've Allowed Donald J Trump to give away [Jerusalem] to the Jews".

When asked what kind of a weapon he would need, Jameson stated he would prefer an assault rifle, the documents say.

The agent learned Jameson had prior military experience with the U.S. Marine Corps. Jameson said he also wanted to use explosives and that Christmas Day would be the ideal day.

But on 18 December Mr Jameson apparently hesitated, telling an agent: "I don't think I can do this after all".

A confidential informant also reported that Jameson spent time "liking" and "loving" Facebook posts that were "pro-ISIS and pro terrorism", including one that featured Santa Claus armed with dynamite in NY, according to the court document. In June 2009, while in the Marines, he earned a sharpshooter rifle capability, McKinney composed. The agent said the NY attack he was referring to was the October 31 attack during which a driver used his truck to killed 9 people. Both You and he are wrong, it belongs to the Muslemeen.

Jameson responded: "In Sha Allah one day I can". They found a a couple of.45-caliber magazines, a Rugers model M77 and a Winchester 22. caliber rifle, ammunitions and some fireworks.

The informant began messaging Jameson, who told him that he was there to "join the cause against the darul kuffar ( or nonbelievers)".
