"Oh! It's a disaster!" It's a disaster. O.K. Well, we'll just have to rough it.

"All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business", she told Entertainment Weekly previous year.

Never mind that Mariah Carey never was and never will be like everybody else, but she made it through her second song without the tea.

This will be Ciara's first time back on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve since 2005 when she performed her debut single "Goodies". After finishing "Vision of Love", Carey hinted that a part of her stage setting was missing.

"Happy New Year!" Carey said, as she addressed the crowd. While at least she got through this year without a major meltdown like last year, the final result still isn't great. "They told me there would be tea!"

Halfway through her show in Times Square, the 47-year-old stopped to ask for some "hot tea" to be brought on stage. She then went into a pretty convincing performance of Hero with a gospel choir backing her up.

The awkwardness increased exponentially from there, as Carey stood onstage without singing, throwing slight asides to the audience like, "We didn't have a sound check but it's New Year's, baby, that's OK, you guys", and "I'm trying to be a good sport here". Sources have said it meant a lot to her because she needed to prove to her fans that she can deliver a great performance live. "Found my tea!" she captioned an Instagram photo of herself sipping from a delicate teacup while seemingly staying warm in the fuzzy white coat she wore for her Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve performance in Times Square.
