But then "The Star-Spangled Banner", the United States national anthem, began to play and everyone stood up to put their hands on their chests and sing the lyrics proudly, and it looked very much as through the President could not remember all the lyrics of the song.

In recent months, NFL players have sparked fury from President Trump over what he perceived to be a lack of patriotism after they knelt during the national anthem prior to games in a protest at racial injustice. "It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem".

People have accused the USA president of forgetting the words.

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these National Football League owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he's fired?'" Trump said in August.

Mr Trump was on the field for the ceremony marking the opening of the college football national championships between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Of course, 20 wickets to win a Test match is the priority. "It definitely ranks as one of my favourite Test matches". I think it was great for Test cricket - getting a result in four days despite losing a day's play.

Video of the performance shows Trump mouthing some of the words, but he also appeared to have botched some of the lyrics. On Monday, he changed his Twitter banner to an image of him standing for the Anthem.

However, what caught the world's attention was how the president miserably failed at singing the National Anthem.

Mr Trump remembered to put his hand over his heart but seemed to forget the lyrics before making a fumbling recovery.

Except the political news world - they're talking about how the president appeared to forget the words to the national anthem at the start of the game.

But when the National Anthem began to play, several social media users noticed Trump was struggling to get through the words. A few days ago, Twitter went into a meltdown when Trump was seen sip water from a glass using both his hands like a child. Earlier this year, Trump was accused of stoking a culture war by loudly criticizing Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players for kneeling during the National Anthem as a form of peaceful protest against racism. He has previously insisted that players who fail to stand should be fired or suspended.
