Speaking after the club's 2-1 win against Bristol City on Tuesday night, the Belgian global said: "He's a very good player".

Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi is reluctant to be drawn into a debate regarding the futures of "top class players" Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Interestingly, it is reported that City have insisted this will be their maximum bid for a player they could take for nothing come the summer. "Obviously, we will see what happens in this transfer period if a good player comes to us that is better".

Arsenal have dropped Alexis Sanchez for Wednesday's first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea.

One player who Arsenal are interested in as a replacement is Monaco's Thomas Lemar, who they planned to sign this past summer, which would've allowed them to let Sanchez leave for City for a higher transfer fee.

The Premier League leaders were prepared to wait until the end of the season to sign Sanchez when the 29-year-old will be a free agent. We are in a good period already, over the whole season.

Speaking in Flemish, De Bruyne names the Reds as his favourite club before going on to state that he would love to play for the Anfield giants when he grows up.

Of course, we don't know if De Bruyne has any inside knowledge. It will be nice to have five days and then nearly a week before Newcastle to get a little bit of recovery.

Arsenal don't have to sell - they can say: "We've got this far, we'll see it out".
