Mark Wahlberg held up Christopher Plummer's casting on 'Money'

The pay gap issue has proved its severity in the Forbes' World's Highest-Paid Actors list where the top 10 actors raked in nearly $500 million previous year while the top 10 women managed only about a third.

The report flies in the face of Williams' work in the Time's Up campaign, an effort led by female stars to address gender discrimination in Hollywood and other industries.

"What he said was, 'I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me.' And that's how he (expletive) them", says one person.

The USA Today report suggests that Williams was not told that Wahlberg's team had negotiated a deal.

What's alarming and preposterous about this revelation is that Williams is a markedly more gifted and critically recognized film presence than Wahlberg, who hasn't even given a noteworthy acting performance in his career. Following the Sony hack during the fourth quarter of 2014, emails revealed that Sony had paid American Hustle female stars Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence considerably less than male stars Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Christian Bale.

According to the New York Times and TMZ, Wahlberg told Scott he'd do the reshoots though he didn't talk about money with the director. The process cost a reported $10 million. USA TODAY also reached out to reps for Plummer and co-star Michelle Williams.

The producers' failure to pay Williams more than her per diem might have been an insidious attempt to take advantage of a woman.

Ford F-150 Diesel Is Actually Good On Gas
The F-150's new 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 has 250 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque and delivers a maximum tow rating of 11,400 pounds. The diesel model will be offered on the XL model and the XLT model and will be offered with both extended and double-cab bodies.

Whether Williams could have gotten the exact same paycheck as Wahlberg for the reshoots probably depends on how much additional work each of them had to do. And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted.

According to Variety, a spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA, which is the union representing both the actors, said that the organisation is looking at the circumstances of the pay disparity.

In November, director Ridley Scott and studio Imperative Entertainment cut actor Kevin Spacey out of the already completed film over sexual misconduct allegations. I had to break the news to my family and tell them I wasn't going be home [for the holidays] and make alternate arrangements for them.

Meanwhile, Williams had previously told USA Today: "I said I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me".

The disclosure of salary details came after Sunday's Golden Globes, which was a showcase for Time's Up, a new initiative to end sexual harassment and gender inequality.

Spokesmen for Imperative, William Morris Endeavor and Sony Pictures, which distributed "All the Money in the World", declined to comment for this article.
