Three children were killed along with four other civilians in the village of Khan al-Sible in southern Idlib on Friday night, as Russian Federation and the regime intensify airstrikes on the rebel-held province.

Russian Federation announced on Wednesday that Turkish-backed rebels attacked its military bases in Syria.

If it is recaptured, the airport will be "the first military base in the hands of the regime in Idlib province", said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.

France said on Wednesday it was extremely concerned by the government offensive in Idlib, the biggest remaining chunk of Syria still held by anti-government rebels, and demanded that commitments made to reduce hostilities there be respected.

"The operation is to hit the belly of the regime deep into liberated territories and to encircle their advancing forces", said Abdul Hakim al Rahamon, a senior official in Jaish al Nasr, an FSA faction taking part.

'This is the Netherlands' was a shot at the USA media, too
Hoekstra said there is "chaos in the Netherlands, there are cars being burned, there are politicians that are being burned". Last month, Hoekstra denied making the remarks. "Please accept my apology".

In Eastern Ghouta, a regime advance to capture a military and industrial area close to the capital Damascus has seen heavy fighting around the Harasta district.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, said regime forces were able to enter Abu Duhur airbase under air cover and were engaged in fierce fighting with the jihadists.

Now, an intense military showdown is taking place in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, a military source told Xinhua, adding that it is hard for the rebels to capture over 120 towns taken by the army in both Hama and Idlib since the Syrian army unleashed their attack in both countrysides two weeks ago.

In a statement, the ministry expressed astonishment over the "French Foreign Ministry's persistence in carrying out the misleading campaign of the French public opinion toward what is happening in Syria and using the humanitarian side as a pretext to do so".
